Ingredients
- bread flour260 g
- instant yeast1 1/2 tsp
- milk, warm120 ml
- egg1 large
- butter, softened60 g
- sugar15 g
- salt1 tsp
- roasted garlic cloves, mashed6 cloves
- sweet corn kernels120 g
- smoked paprika1 tsp
- cream cheese70 g
- spring onion, finely sliced2
Method
- 1Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar, then add bread flour, egg, and salt; knead until a rough dough forms.
- 2Work in softened butter gradually and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, then cover and rise until doubled.
- 3Stir roasted garlic, corn, smoked paprika, cream cheese, and spring onion into a spreadable filling.
- 4Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll up from the long side into a tight log.
- 5Slice into 8 spirals and place cut-side up in a lined pan, then proof until puffy.
- 6Bake at 190°C for 22-26 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- 7Cool briefly before serving warm.
Tips
- If the dough feels sticky, resist adding too much flour; a longer knead will make it smoother.
- Roast the garlic until very soft and sweet for a rounder flavor.
- These are best warm, but you can refresh them in the oven for 5 minutes the next day.
