How long do strawberries and berries last?
Strawberries and raspberries last 3–7 days in the fridge; blueberries stretch to 1–2 weeks. All berries freeze beautifully for about 10–12 months.
Fridge
3–7 days soft berries · 1–2 weeks blueberries
Freezer
10–12 months, frozen on a tray first
Store it right
- Do not wash until you eat them; moisture drives mould.
- Store in a vented container lined with paper towel.
- Remove one mouldy berry immediately — it spreads within hours.
Signs it has gone off
- Fuzzy white or grey mould
- Leaking, collapsed fruit
- Fermented smell
Rescue ideas
- Roast soft berries with a little sugar into a compote.
- Freeze on a tray, then bag for smoothies.
- Blend into a quick chia jam that keeps a week.
