15 min 4 Easy

Ingredients

  • country bread slices8
  • olive oil2 tbsp
  • ripe pears, sliced2
  • burrata cheese8 oz
  • lemon juice1 tbsp
  • honey1 tbsp
  • arugula2 cups
  • black pepper1/2 tsp
  • flaky salt1/2 tsp

Method

  1. 1Brush the bread with a little olive oil and toast it in a skillet or toaster until crisp and golden.
  2. 2Heat the remaining olive oil in a skillet and sear the pear slices for 1 to 2 minutes per side until they caramelize lightly.
  3. 3Toss the arugula with lemon juice, honey, black pepper, and a pinch of flaky salt.
  4. 4Spread burrata over the toasts and top with the warm pears.
  5. 5Pile the dressed arugula on top and finish with any remaining pan juices.
  6. 6Serve right away while the bread is crisp and the pears are warm.

Tips

  • Choose pears that are ripe but still firm so they sear without turning mushy.
  • If burrata is unavailable, use ricotta and a drizzle of olive oil instead.
  • A pinch of chili flakes can add a nice edge to the sweet-savory balance.
