Black Cocoa Moonlit Pudding Cups

Silky chocolate pudding with a midnight hue, topped with whipped cream clouds and a crunch of cookie 'soil.'

30 min 4 Easy

Ingredients

  • whole milk2 cups
  • black cocoa powder1/4 cup
  • granulated sugar1/3 cup
  • cornstarch3 tbsp
  • salt1/8 tsp
  • vanilla extract1 tsp
  • dark chocolate, chopped2 oz
  • whipped cream1 cup
  • chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed6 cookies

Method

  1. 1In a saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until no lumps remain.
  2. 2Slowly whisk in the milk, then cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
  3. 3Remove from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
  4. 4Divide the pudding among 4 cups and press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming.
  5. 5Chill for at least 20 minutes, or until cool and set enough to spoon cleanly.
  6. 6Top with whipped cream and a generous sprinkle of crushed cookies to resemble moonlit graveyard soil.
  7. 7Serve cold with a spoon and optional candy decorations for a festive finish.

Tips

  • If you want a stronger chocolate flavor, add an extra tablespoon of cocoa and reduce the sugar slightly.
  • Layer the pudding with whipped cream in clear glasses for a more dramatic presentation.
