Treacle Parsnip and Cheddar Scones

Method
- 1Heat the oven to 200°C and line a tray with baking paper.
- 2Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- 3Rub in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs, then stir in parsnip and cheddar.
- 4Mix treacle with the milk, pour in just enough to make a soft dough, and bring it together gently.
- 5Pat into a thick round and cut into 8 wedges or circles.
- 6Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until risen and golden, then cool for a few minutes before serving.
